If you want to know how to check eSIM compatibility, the fastest way is to dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID number appears on the screen, your device supports eSIM. You can also confirm compatibility directly from your phone’s settings. Since the exact steps vary depending on the operating system, below you’ll find clear instructions for checking eSIM compatibility on iPhones and Android devices, along with what to do if your phone doesn’t show these options.

Method 1: Check eSIM Compatibility with a Dial Code

Dialing *#06# is a universal way to check eSIM compatibility, and it works regardless of the device brand. When you enter the code, an information screen with several numbers and barcodes appears.

If you see an EID (Embedded Identity Document), your phone supports eSIM. If only IMEI numbers appear and no EID is listed, the device does not support eSIM and only works with a physical SIM. This check does not place a call; the screen appears automatically after entering the final #.

Method 2: Check eSIM Compatibility in Your Mobile Settings

You can also confirm eSIM compatibility directly from your phone settings. This check depends on the operating system, since the menu structure differs between iPhone and Android devices. Below, you’ll find the exact paths to follow on each system to verify whether your phone supports eSIM.

Follow these steps to set up your eSIM as the primary SIM for voice, data, and text.

  1. Go to settings: Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Tap on "Cellular" or "Mobile Data": Select "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" from the menu.
  3. Select "Default Voice Line": Tap on "Default Voice Line".
  4. Set eSIM as the primary line: Choose "eSIM Tourist" as the default.
  5. Set "Default Data Line": Tap on "Cellular Data".
  6. Choose eSIM for data: Select "eSIM Tourist" for data.
  7. Set "Default SMS Line": Tap on "Default SMS Line".

Note: Your eSIM Tourist is now set as the primary SIM for calls, texts, and data. Your Home SIM is set as the secondary SIM.

Checking eSIM compatibility on an iPhone is quick and simple, since the menu layout is the same across supported devices.

Go to Settings → Tap on Cellular (Mobile service) → If the “Add eSIM” option is available, your iOS device supports eSIMs.

Apple introduced eSIM functionality with the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. Since then, all iPhones have been eSIM compatible, including the latest models. Previous models are not eSIM compatible.

On Android devices, the exact path can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer. The steps below reflect the most common setup.

Go to Settings → Choose Connections → Select SIM Manager → If the “Add eSIM” option is available, your phone is compatible.

You can use your eSIM multiple times, but only on one device at a time. You have the option to reinstall the eSIM on the same phone and extend your plan by adding a Top-Up to the existing eSIM. Just keep in mind that you can’t use or activate the same eSIM on two phones simultaneously. You can also install it on a new phone by using the QR code or the manual codes provided in the welcome email. If you're reinstalling it on a new device, make sure it's an eSIM-compatible phone, and it is network/operator unlocked.

You can use the same eSIM on your subsequent travels to the island, just make sure to top-up every 90 days to extend its validity.

Yes, you can easily use two eSIMs simultaneously if your device supports dual eSIM, such as the iPhone 13 and newer models. In contrast, while Android devices that support eSIM can store multiple eSIM profiles, only one can be active at a time. Keep in mind that specifications may vary by model.

Go to Settings → General → About → Scroll down to find Carrier Lock or Network Provider Lock → If you see SIM Locked, your iPhone is locked. If you see “No SIM restrictions” your iPhone is unlocked and ready to use an eSIM. To unlock your carrier-locked phone, request an unlock code from your home provider.

Once your plan runs out of data or if your data pack expires, you need to buy a new data pack. You can purchase one here (insert link). We will remind you the day before your pack expires (or if you consume all your data!), so you can purchase a new pack, as needed. Calling and texting benefits are tied to an active data pack, so when your data pack expires, those services will stop working as well.

The eSIM data package expiration date depends on the eSIM validity or data consumption. Your eSIM data package will last for the presented validity period, as long as you do not consume all data before then. The validity period starts when the eSIM activates. All eSIMs will activate when the installed eSIM connects to the network.  If you consume the data included in your pack before the intended validity, the entire data pack expires, and you will need to purchase a new data pack by visiting the following page: (insert link).

You can top-up anytime, anywhere by choosing one of the following options. They are fast, and convenient!

  • Visit my.onecomm.bm/top-up to access the online top-up portal.
  • Dial #8255 from your Smartphone to listen and follow the IVR prompts. Select option #2 to Top-up.
